Hockey Festival

Compton entered two teams in this years hockey fest at Marjons. It took place over 2 days, the 6th and 7th June.

As expected competition was strong. Compton B Team, made up mostly of novices, had a superb day winning a game and scoring some goals. Players for the future for sure. Compton A Team played amazing hockey and got through to the Cup knock out stage of the tournament where they played the winner of another group. Against the odds our young team, Ellie, Emily, Kat, Isla, Will, Charlie E and Charlie A played a fantastic game to win 2-1 taking them through to the second day and in the top 8 of 53 teams in Plymouth.

Day two, quarter finals ended early with Compton going out to a very strong Widey Court side. The team could hold their heads high, the only team to score (2) against Widey in two days.

A special mention to two people, Will, for scoring two of the best goals I have ever seen in the whole of my hockey career. Well done Will take a bow . . . oh you did, and ran a circuit of the pitch! And of course our very own Mrs Green, who scored a fantastic penalty against one of the counties leading goal keepers. Sooooo cooool, she didn’t even remove her sunglasses!
