Science Olympics at Eggbuckland Community College – Part 2
On the 14th of December, four Year 5 children attended Eggbuckland Community College with Mrs Butcher for the second part of a science olympics project. Widey also attended.
COMPTON vs WIDEY.
In this lesson we made magnets. Not normal magnets, we made electromagnets. We made this with a screw, 2 wires, crocodile clips and a battery pack. We lost by one paperclip. Billy and Sam were great at this.
When we went to Eggbuckland community college there was lots of different activities, one of them was a real or fake alien picture quiz. We had to guess which ones were fake and which were real. We won this activity.
Methane is a type of gas so instead of filling bubbles with air, we filled them with methane. This was so cool as it looked like we had set the teacher on fire .
In one activity we had to guess which fruit or veg was in the MRI scan by looking at a picture. We lost this one by one point. This was a very fun but hard challenge.
In this activity we made slime. We used glue, borax and warm water. We also used food colouring to brighten up the slime.
