Year 3 News

Year 3 have been working hard researching more interesting facts so they can write an information text based on our history topic, Ancient Egypt. In English, they explored features of non-fiction texts and will use this to inform their own writing.

We have been investigating light in our science lessons and the children first predicted which materials would reflect light the most. They measured this using a lux meter and were surprised to find that even dull cardboard reflects some light!

In RE, we have considered how festivals and worship show what matters to Jewish people. We learnt about Rosh Hashanah (New year) and Yom Kippur. The children had the chance to have some apples and honey. It is a symbol to show that they hope that the new year will be sweet!
