Yr3 Trip to the Waste to Energy Plant

This event will take place on 23/03/2023

As part of our Science week activities we are learning about where our rubbish goes and about how we can reduce, reuse and recycle to be more sustainable in our practices. Then to follow up on this, on Thursday 23rd March 2022, year 3 have the opportunity to visit the Waste to Energy Incinerator in Devonport to learn more about how our Plymouth Rubbish is turned into heat and energy. This will be a very informative and interesting trip for your child.

Cost: £3.10 made payable via Parentpay to cover the cost of the coach. Paid by Friday 17th March, please.

Time: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Clothing: School uniform must be worn with long sleeves, trousers and sensible enclosed footwear; any children not wearing the required clothing will not be able to partake in the site tour but will be able to do the other two activities. Pupils may wear PE jogging bottoms instead of trousers.

Food: large snack and drink for a break at 11am at the site and then a packed lunch which will be eaten at 1 pm when we’re back at school.
