This week the children in EYFS have become mini palaeontologists and have learnt all about dinosaurs. This week our toy dinosaurs have come to life and caused all sorts of mischief. The children have created non-fiction books about different types of dinosaurs, using captions and labels. We have had a mini excavation scene set up, so the children could explore real-life fossils. They have made their own fossils using clay and have become explorers in the deconstructed role-play area. Dr Fisher, a palaeontologist, came to visit the children and showed them different dinosaur teeth and shared interesting facts about dinosaurs and fossils. Dr Fisher was very impressed with the children’s knowledge and understanding and awarded them all a certificate.
